I'm looking at buying a del sol (maybe, i have a long list of hondas/acuras to look over) but was wondering how fast it could be...a vtec with the b16a would be great but would that be able to run 12s? if not, would a b16/b20 hybrid to 12s? would a swappin of a b18 or h22 do the trick? thanks

The only Del Slow I like is the Top Fuel Del Sol.

You can make it run 12's, just depends on what mods, how much money you want to invest into it. nOOb.

a turbo b16 with internals and a nice set of turbo cams, running high boost, would get you into the 12's fine...if you can find traction.

Well on the plus side, Del Sol's don't seem to get stolen as much as Hatches... Even know everyone here calls them Del Slows... at least you will still have your **** when you come out of the mall.

On the how fast side... well I knew of a del w/a greddy kit doing 13.6 @ 7psi.

Beg all you want the ratio to hatch theft to del sol theft is like 10 to 1. No offense but you probably posted all your goodies on here like everyone else did that had their **** jacked. Chances are in your case the Del Sol had something they wanted more. Also I never said that they will never get stolen. They are not as high priority item as hatches.

The reason it's 10 to 1 is because everybody and their grammy has a hatchback. It has nothing to do with the fact that hatchbacks are hotter items. They take em to the shop, get all the good parts and leave the car in some alley.

That's why i want something different...plus i saw a 93 del sol vtec in sport compact car with stock internals and 7psi boost runnin thru a t3/t04e 50trim and it ran 12.8sec...

The del Sol in that mag ran a 12.8 with slicks and he was an incredible driver. He had upgraded fuel control and eletronics and a type r tranny. If you want to go into the 12's cheaper and easier, get a b18b1 and boost 12 or 14 lbs, s1 or s80 tranny and phantom grip. Depening on your abilites you will see the 13's, maybe the 12's. Its nice to see someone interested in sol's though.

ok so we dont start of on a bad start this is just fyi not flaming. but first off no phantom grip (or better known as phantom slip) they will kill ur tranny. second i have seen tons of boosted cars that i have worked on that have made more power when they were at lower boost levels than they did at higher. friend of mine made more power with 5 lbs of boost than with 10 lbs. its all about what parts you have. lastly you need your car to be tuned for ur parts. its all in the tuning but go del sol ull love it
