dc header on d16y8
i tried to put my header on today and got everything bolted up right untill i came to the cat. for some reason the header seemed a little short and i couldnt get the cat and header to come together. after many hours of dumbfoundedness me and my friend decided to put the stock back on to take the header to a muffler shop. then we couldnt get the stock one to bolt up to the cat. theres a gap about an inch or so wide between the header and the cat. obviously im overlooking something small but i cant figure out whats wrong. any suggestions?

on the stock one there is a tab that mounts to the lower side of the engine. make sure it is located correctly or it wont line up. the dcs header i got had a flange welded on crooked.

that sounds like a problem when you go with a b-series motor and d-series piping...but that isnt the case so you got me?

when i bolt the cat and the header together with the springs on the bolts, it will bolt together, but you can stick your finger between the cat and header. it doesnt come together like it should. we are doing something wrong because the stock one is the same way so its not the dc header

Re: (curtissays)
well there will be a gap between the flanges when put together properly so just bolt it up, start it and check for leaks
