Default is this dangerous?

ive just been installing my ES motor mount inserts. I had a probelm with my passenger lower mount. When unbolting the two 14mm bolts that attach the mount itself to the frame.. i THINK i might have sheered the middle of the bolt. Either that or there are nut on the other side of the bolts?????

Can anyone tell me if there are nuts behind the bolts and how to take them off if there are cuz u cant access them from anywhere as its in the frame...

ALSO...is it dangerous to drive without this mount??? its the one closest to the bumper attached to the tranny.

ANYBODYS HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!! thanks

So basically what you're saying is that 1 of the 2 bolts holding your tranny mount to the frame is spinning freely in the hole?

It's dangerous to drive without any of the mounts. Honda wouldn't put them there to kill time on the assembly line.

I'm too lazy to go look, but if the bolts come out somewhere inside the fender well, pull your wheel off and tear your fender lining out and see what the hell the bolts are doing or not doing and why they arent threading in.

Without the mounts, your motor will be moving around like crazy. Look at how much a motor moves when you rev it and all the mounts are attached. You're very likely to break something, if you can get it to drive at all.

yes there are nuts welded into place there. in fact, i saw a thread earlier this week in the lude forum with a very similar issue. And don't drive on it if possible, it is pretty dangerous for your engine's well being.

are we refering to the tranny torque mount? i mean u should have one but it is not as drastic as these people are talking about. i mean myself i would try to fix it, if i cant i would drive it to someone who might have more knowledge on the situation, notice i said drive, it isnt that bad. u got the a/c bracket torque mount installed that should deaden most of the blow until u get it fixed.

but dont take what im saying as ahhh **** it u dont need it, and just not fix it then try and blame me when eventually down the road somthing could break due to wear and tear on the a/c torque bracket, im saying if u need to get somewhere important u can drive on it, but try and get it fixed asap

ok, I think a few people are kinda confused. The mount he speaks of is the mount that goes on the tranny and bolts to the bottom of the frame. Two 14mm bolts, hello??

Yes it is bad to drive without that mount, It will make the motor rock badly and will damage something.

I suggest you take off the 19MM bolt on the end and slide off the mount, then buy a tap and die from vatozone or other auto parts store, and re-tap the holes. You may need to tap it a size larger.

option two, drive to a repair shop and have them fix it for you like I said above if you feel your not confident enough to repair it yourself.

hmmm i have seen people take these off because they wanted an "uber-clean looking" engine bay and successfully manage to not break anything as u mention. im sure it is case by case but it isnt THAT BAD.

how can u drill and tap an anchor bolt that most likely came loose and doesnt hold still? im betting it isnt stripped out on the inside of the threads im betting it broke the anchor nuts loose due to being over tightened

i think he is talking about the torque mount, no there are not any nuts on the back of them, it is a threaded hole in the frame, and driving without this mount won't hurt you, but it won't help any either

ooo ok, from what i was getting i thought there was some form of nut just like spot welded to the frame, then i take back the drill and tap thing, that could work.
