daily driven 98 hatch
im thinking of dropping a b16a2 into my hatch and im juss looking for any recomendations from first hand experiance
should i stick with the b16a2? if so, what else should i put into it?
or should i go with something bigger?
im not trying to go overboard with modifications and spending money, but i juss wanna have mor fun driving than i do now.

Re: daily driven 98 hatch (million)
Unless you're getting a steal on the b16 there are much better engine choices.
b18b with a b16 or gsr tranny will spank a b16.
Read the sticky at the top.
Currently a lot of H-T is pretty against the b16 due to small displacement and not having much more potential than a D-series.
id at least go with a b18b with a closely geared transmission. it responds much better.

Re: (million)
I in general don't like having to rev to 15 million rpms to get any power.
I've changed my minds on so many different power making goals on my car it's ridiculous. The ones I've sticked with the longest are the gsr and the h2b setup.
The b16b is just like the b16a in the fact that you have to rev the crap out of it to get power.
it's over-priced and under powered.
A $400 ls swap with a $400 b16 tranny with minor bolt ons would probably keep up with a $4500 ctr motor.
The b18c1 is nice because it's got a lot more potential Naturally aspirated or turboed.
I've been confident in saving up for my h2b swap for about 7 months now. I only have to rev it to 7k rpms and i'll have ~200hp and ~160 Torque with a superior b-series tranny to boot.
it's the new rave, it's 1/3 the cost of a k-swap and you still have enough money to boost it. It's a lot less headache than other series swaps now because of the conveinience of the h2b kit. Though it's really only convenient right now for the eg and the integra. The kit for my car, del sols and other models are in development right now.

I swear the b16 is the #1 H-T swap for some reason...then everyone sells the swap, and goes to something that doesn't feel like a D-series b/f you hit vtec.
I don't think a b16 is a bad motor if you do work to it (turbo or head work), but in stock form, an LS will be more fun, even with the LS trans it's not too bad (especially if you cruise on the highway a lot).
