Default D16Z6 turbo problem

Hi, i have a civic eg Z6 turbo. Its a fresh build with forged pistons and rods etc. Engine has done less then 500 miles. since driving it to run it in etc its aquired a tapping noise :/ its not a massive knocking noise and it doesnt speed up with higher rpms. you can only hear it when your under the bonnet. i know the engines got an oil leak atm not a major one buts its a leak none the less.

Does anyone have any suggestions to what it could be or even experienced the problem??

cheers

Hi...3 Months ago I just installed a turbo in a D16Z6. Check the valves adjustment. 0.20 intake, 0.25 exhaust. Hot engine.

I thought it might have something to do with this too. Thank you

Will it do much damage to the pistons if they have dropped a bit?

No damage at all...

Valves adjustment in 4 steps:

Step 1: Remove Valves Cover and Spark Plugs.

Step 2: Piston #1 in TDC... Adjust the intake valves of pistons 1 and 2, and the exhaust valves of 1 & 3 pistons.

Step 3: Rotate engine. Piston #4 in TDC. Adjust intake valves of 4 & 3 pistons, adjust the exhaust valves 4 and 2 pistons.

Step 4 : Assemble Spark Plugs and Valves cover.

Make sure put some Rtv silicone in the edge of valves gasket cover...Close to Camshaft Gear and distributor. By the way, check the Spark Plugs Gap (0.40)

TDC = Top Dead Center
