I drive a 92 eg with a d16z6 built for boost. It has vitara low comp. pistons, I'm getting like 175-200 miles to a tank. Its horrible. Is the pistons why I'm getting bad mpg's? Can someone explain why low compression pistons do that, is it b/c alot of gas and air mixture but no power being created.

Sorry guys I'm a noob. And I know, I know "Turbo it so you don't have to worry" I will once I get the funds. But thanks for any feedback.

lowering compression reduces efficiency. plus i'd guess it's probably not tuned. how far off is that?

I can't even believe you're driving this car daily w/ a vitara setup but no turbo. Those pistons are a little too low while boosted IMO, let alone without (especially not being tuned).

Either I drive with the pistons or don't drive at all. I don't have money to buy a turbo set up right now. So I guess this will have to do.

So why did you add the pistons if you cant buy the turbo kit?
