Default D16Z6 Civic Coupe Auto Tranny, Racecar

What can be done to this dirt car to make as much power as possible to last maybe 10 races max (10 laps) motor must remain stock. Only ecu work can be done, how high can we change the rev limiter to? Any ideas welcomed. This also has an auto tranny.

Nothing if you have to leave it stock. Your not going to gain any power by raising the rev limiter, just blow up the engine.

How much time and money are you willing to invest, and what are the specific modifications allowed?

auto-to-manual swap allowed? that would help big time.

sounds like a waste of time, esp with a civic.

It's not a waste of time when its for fun, and its actually going to be raced... unlike 98% of the **** out there...

Yes it's allowed but its a bit more work than what this guy is willing to do.

Very little money... Exhaust manifold, intake manifold cannot be changed. CAI is allowed. Exhaust system is chopped off at the end of the header...

Thinking of increasing the fuel pressure and running larger injectors.

What about changing the shift points? Blowing it up isnt too much of a concern as long as it lasts 10-15 runs... or roughly 25-40 miles of actual driving.

That really won't benefit you on a stock motor. If you are essentially only allowed to modify the ECU, your best bet would be to chip it and tune with an application such as Uberdata or Crome.

considering its going to be a dirt racer then just tune it so that it works best at peak torque at the RPM that it would benefit you the most.

If its like that a good way is to loose as much weight as possible. Strip it.
