D16z6 bore to 76mm max hp on stock sleeves?
Hello, I have a D16z6 vitara build with garret t3 turbo. Its been running for a few weeks and I've decided that I need more power. Its running 15 psi right now and fast as crap but Im getting used to it already.
I had the block bore out to 75.5mm for a better fit but I want to buy some Wiseco pistons and I want to bore the block again to 76mm. I was wondering what is the safe hp on the stock 76mm sleeves with no block guard. I want to make it 400whp. That is my only questions about the sleeves. If they will be fine and reliable for a DD and wont crack. Thanks

people have gone further than 400whp, but majority of us believe that ~400whp is the limit on stock sleeves
i believe it is and at 400whp yous till risk blowing it

400hp d series DD? stock sleeves? your asking for trouble
what kind of power are you making now? and if its already fast as crap then maybe you dont need anymore...how often are you gonna actually use all that power in daily driving? if your gonna use it at the track then definently get it built if you want it to last a while

I dont know how much I'm making now. Its fast but not fast enough. Its just as fast as an E46 M3. Its a 2000 Civic DX coupe. I know people have made like 600hp on the stock sleeves, but it was no more then 75.5mm bore. Im asking if the half mm will make it that much more dangerous or if its not to big a deal.
I want 400hp just to have it. I dont even want to take it to the track. Its not hard. I just dont know if its worth the extra 1k for the sleeves. Thanks

sleeving is a good piece of mind to have and im glad i did it with mine. If you are not set on sleeves than I do recommend a block guard. Trust me its worth the extra $$$. It will save you in the long run if you ever do decide to go biggger.
