D16Y8 timing belt
My mother in law needs her timing belt replaced on her 1999 Acura EL 1.6L
I am pretty sure it is a D16Y8 engine. Is there a timing belt replacement How -to DIY
someone could post please
Thanks in advance
How many hrs to complete the job (roughly)

Re: D16Y8 timing belt (stp72)
See what engine it is by inspecting the engine block a little below and inboard of the dizzy. The engine code should be stamped there.
Have you changed a timing belt on a Honda or Acura before? If not, spend some time first figuring out how you will free the crankshaft pulley bolt. It is a huge hurdle to overcome for many. Maybe get this bolt freed one weekend, then put it back on and plan to do much of the job the next weekend. Here is some discussion on it:

Here is an overview and pretty good guide to the job:

You will want to consider changing out the camshaft and crankshaft seals, water pump and tensioner at the same time as the timing belt, since getting to these parts requires just about the same labor.
