D16y8 manual swap intake and ecu questions
Hi guys, new to the forum and in need of some help with some questions about doing a manual swap on a 98 civic ex auto with d16y8 on a rop ramen budget. Ive been reading alot that I need to either modify the auto intake on the car or aquire a manual intake because of the iacv location but im wondering why that is nessasary. I planned on just using the auto ecu as i was told it would work just fine. Im having a hard time figuring out if it will work or not.
So my question is:
#1) if i drop a 5 spd trans in the automatic car and leave the auto intake manifold and auto ecu will i run into iacv problems still?

Auto ECU in a manual car will throw transmssion codes and enter limp mode, the car will not run properly. It can start and run and drive but it won't let you go over 4500 rpm.
When you swap to manual ECU you also need an intake with a 2-wire IACV, and change the IACV plug and move a wire in the ECU plug to make it work.
