Auto ECU in my manual to auto swap
i been running an auto ecu in my auto to manual swap for awhile now.. I been reading and alot of posts say its fine but others say its not. Would there be a difference in performance if i put in a manual ecu? Is there any pros about swapping my auto ecu for a manual one?
thanks

I didn't know that you could even operate an auto-to-manual swap without a manual ecu.. How does your car ride and idle as of now?

think about it...
if your car is now a manual... what type of ECU would Honda use?
do you think you would gain some performance from running a manual ECU in a manual car as apposed to running an auto ECU?
this is just flat retarded

Re: Auto ECU in my manual to auto swap (mizzoEG)
I been running my car for about 2 years almost, besides the check engine light it seems to be running fine. I was jsut curious to see if there is any performance gains if i put in the manual ECU. The rev limiter are different? acceleration?

your even slower than i thought...
do you really think it's running anywhere near the way it should with the wrong ecu in it?
the check engine light is there for a reason
come on just think about it before you respond again

i didnt ask to be put down in here.. isnt that what honda tech is for? to get help? I been searching and havent really found alot of negs about keeping the auto ecu thats why im asking! and yes im sure there is a difference in the rev limiter but i wanted to ask people that have done auto to manual swap if they noticed a differrence when they finally switched out there ecu for a manual one?

auto ECU on manual car
lower rev limiter
richer fuel maps
slightly pulled ignition timing
CEL will cause richer than normal conditions, will pull ignition as well.
instable and higher idle at times
CEL masking notification of any other CEL that may be urgent...

Re: (Relic1)
ok... Thank you! that helped.. ok another question is, if i convert my auto ecu to a manual ecu. Is that just the same as getting a manual ecu? would that solve all of the things you listed? Or is it best to just get a manual ecu?

Re: Auto ECU in my manual to auto swap (95jeremie)
ok maybe i should have not said performance gains.. because I know I should be running a manual ecu, i just wanted to know from the people that have done the auto to manual swap if they noticed a difference from using the auto ecu to the manual ecu.

Re: Auto ECU in my manual to auto swap (tturbocivic0618)
that's the thing
think about it
if you are currently using the wrong ecu and you know this
why wouldn't you notice a difference from the correct ecu?
you know it's throwing a code
you know the rev limiter is different
so... yes there will be a difference
there ya happy i spelled it out for ya
hope there are no hard feelings I'm just trying to get you to think
i still can't believe that you have ran it like that for all most 2 years
that's crazy

Re: Auto ECU in my manual to auto swap (95jeremie)
yea i know! whats crazy is my doner car i had which was complete and ran. i forgot to take out the ecu from it. and when i went back to finally get it at the shop i was working at, it was towed. so i just left it as auto ecu.

Re: Auto ECU in my manual to auto swap (95jeremie)
thank you...
but do you know if you convert your auto ecu is it the same as a original manual ecu? if converted would it change the rev limiter and fuel maps as they are on a manual ecu?

only OBD1 ECUs can be converted easily.
the conversion will only get rid of the CEL, it will not change the rev limiter or maps.
