The manual EX manifold uses a 2 wire IACV mounted to the back of the intake manifold like most other B abd D series engines. The automatic Y8 manifold has the IACV mounting blocked off and instead uses a 3 wire IACV mounted to the throttle body, the same as all Y7s.

Re: d16y8 intake manifold (94EG8)
so thats automatic right making sure ima bit slow lol sorry because in some other threads ive read through out the internet it says that automatic intake manifolds do not have the drilled holes in the back and would it really matter if i have a obd2 vtec harness and just leave the vtec silonoid plug just..hanging?

Re: d16y8 intake manifold (Dub9.Juice)
You've somewhat lost me, but yes thats an automatic Y8 manifold. Automatic Y8 manifolds don't have the holes drilled in the back, this is why you want the automatic Y8 manifold when swapping the manifold only onto a Y7. Don't use a vtec harness, unless its for an automatic because you will have to repin wires to get the IACV to work and you will need to add one wire as well.
