Put a moroso pan on it... If you're taking sharp curves and your oil is sloshing over and not getting throughout the engine you got a problem.

first question is are these stock motors your reving to 8k? if so they are not meant to be rev'd that high. u cant just throw a cam in and change ur rev limiter. are u using arp rod bolts? stock rods in a d16 are not that strong they are the size of a pencil. there are many DIY on how to port and shim ur oil pump that could help. moroso pans are only made for the 92-95 d series motors not 96-00. i have heard many fitment issues with the moroso pan. its not a necessity.

when you put a vtec head on a non-vtec block there are several MUST DO upgrades to the OEM systems to keep up.
non-vtec waterpumps do not have as many teeth on the gear, so they spin too fast when you rev higher (in vtak)
I imagine it's the exact same thing with oil pumps, but they don't have gears..
have you upgraded anything other than the head? you need vtak waterpump and oil pump as far as i know

vtec and non vtec water pump teeth are the same this has nothing to do with anything. i don't know who informed u of this ,but its not correct I've compared this many of times with different d series motors. As for the y8-y7 bottom ends are known for spinning rod bearings because there's is only 1 oiling hole for the each rod vs the older d series (90-95)motors that had 2 oiling holes for each rod. i ran a stock non shimmed y8 oil pump on a z6 with the stock rev limiter with no problem's for 3 yrs. the z6 oil pump flows a little better as its known to have bigger gears inside the pump and are known to flow more stock for stock then a y7-y8 oil pump. goodluck
