Re: d16y8 in 94' VX (NJHatch)
search man like most will tell u. but the y8 should be a pretty much drop in. the vx hatch already comes with vtec wired in. u should get a p28 to run the motor right though. also did u get the y8 tranny. the vx has way long gears even too long for boost

Re: d16y8 in 94' VX (kyosoeg6)
i am getting the y8 t rans also. i heard u just have to swap the obd1 injectors, alternator and dizzy? and ecu what else? or is there any easier way?id rather just leave the y8 motor alone and just try a different way of getting the motor running wit no problems.

I'm not an OBDII expert, but i know that OBDII distributor and injectors is compatible with OBD1 ECU, so if the plugs on your y8 distributor and injectors are the same as the ones currently in your car, all you need is an OBD1 P28 ECU. If the plugs are different (like i said, im not really an expert in OBD1/OBDII) everything else should bolt right in, plug right in, and fire right up.

I'm doing the Z6 and being set up with a new ecu, dizzy, head, intake mani, and injectors/sensors. I'm pretty sure that's all you NEED I think, most all d-series stuff bolts right on to eachother. Good luck!

Z6 = OBD I
Y8 = OBD II
Z6 = OBD I
Y8 = OBD II

Re: (Jokerluv)
is there anything to do so that i can just leave the y8 motor with all the obd2 stuff on it, so i dont mess anything up, rather than swap the injectors, alt and distro. just plug and play and run a p28? or what
