Icon2 D16Y7 - What wire is this?

Just swapped a "newer" used d16y7 + a z6 tranny into my car and somehow managed to spin a bearing on this motor as well as my previous original motor.

Was curious...what is this wire? It's coming out of the crank casing.

Most likely for the CKF sensor behind the low timing belt cover.

If you have an OBD1 ECU, the CKF is not needed.

It's OBD2. All OBD2 wiring, ecu, motor....is this why when I checked the OIL cap and took it off, there was smoke POURING out but the oil was FULL?

Without the CKF sensor hooked up and working, an OBD2 system will run like crap. Do you ignore CEL codes?

No but I didn't have access to a scan tool at the time. I was just wondering if this would have caused me to spin a rod bearing.

You don't need a scan tool to pull codes on your car. Read through the CEL sticky at the top.

Possibly.
