D16Y7 Turbo Intake Manifold Swap
Yo guys,
I have a D16Y7 from a 99 dx hatch & finally just bought the GReddy turbo kit. My problem is that the kit is for an ex so the charge pipes only bolt up to a ex intake manifold which has the throttle body located on the side not like the Y7 where it is on top the manifold. So i was thinking of just getting a performance manifold like the skunk2 because i am NOT doing a VTEC head swap because i've done research and found out 400 bucks for everything isn't worth it for 20 more horse or so. My question is how much work would it be to put the skunk2 on there? I know that the throttle cable setup wouldn't work and i'm not sure about other things. Please help me!!

you could use the y8 intake manifold for less. pretty sure you would want the manual one though. cheaper and from what my friend said better for lower rpm but i'm not sure about that.

You would prefer to get the manifold off of an Auto EX because the IAC is a 3pin, same as your DX. I swapped mine with a manual EX and had to get a 2pin plug to convert it.

how bout this- buy a cheap *** "short ram" intake off ebay for a y7. cut it to length so it mates up to the charge pipe and connect it with an extra coupler. cost you what, 20-30 bucks (dont know what ebay intakes cost)
