Canadian civic Intake manifold ??

Canadian civic Intake manifold ??
Ok, so my friend has a canadian spec 97 civic, automatic, and I never looked at his motor, so when I ordered his AEM CAI intake and he went to put it in, he saw that on his car thethrottle body was pointing towards the hood rather then to the passenger side.
My question is, is that normal of the canadian civics only or the USDM ones as well? Also, if he were to get say a Skunk 2 or Venom intake manifold, would it be able to bolt on? Also, would it be able to use the same Throttle Body, or does he need a new one of those as well? Would the IM come with a TB?

He has a DX, He needs a DX AEM CAI, what a waste on those motors but whatever
D16y7 should be swaped out or boosted
It won't fit right, u can weld a atachment one, or do a EX manifold Swap, or just buy one of the new skunk2 SOHC Manifolds
Ur going to need a EX TB and TB Cable to do the swap make sure if ur doing the EX swap u get a automatic EX Intake Manifold, those are cheap under 100 bucks.

The intake manifold opens up on all 96-00 Civic D16y7 powered cars (non-vtec). You have to run a different intake. AEM makes one, its what i used and if you believe the #s on their site they got 10 wheel hp, which is impressive. And yes, the aftermarket intake manifolds will bolt on along with one from an EX (si for you canadians) for more power. Rick

ok, so what I have learned--
Auto DX sucks
He could get a DX CAI, but its a waste
An automatic EX manifold would fit, but an EX Throttle Body and Throttle Body cable would be needed.
One more thing, do they make any Aftermarket IM for the D16Y7(I noticed he said Skunk 2, is that out)
