d16y7 turbo build
I am interested in doing a sohc non vtec turbo build. Id like to also do a stroker kit and build up the top end.
What do you all suggest for a stroker kit, cam, valesprings, retainers. Im thinking a T3/T4 Turbo setup would do nice.

zex or crower make great cams
im a now a believer in building the bottom end theres nothing better than a bit of insurance forged piston (JE, CP, WISECO ) and rods ( EAGLE FTW ) mild port and polish on the head maybe oversized valves if you want more power in the future

No offense, but that is a terrible turbo suggestion. If he was looking for 450-500whp, then maybe it'd be ok, but for a ~300whp D series, that turbo is lag city.
OP: I know you're looking in the 300whp range for your goal. I hope you plan to build the bottom end because the stock block D series is only safe to about 220-240whp...beyond that and you'll need to at least build a Vitara/Eagle setup to sustain the additional power.
I suggest you check out the Forced Induction forum as the Civic forum is chalk full of misinformation. Read the FAQ in FI and if you have further questions, ask them in the FI Forum...not here

Re: d16y7 turbo build
i would recommend the eagles h-beams and vitaras i have a set and you cant go wrong with them in a d-series .. get a good set of super-tech valves and retainers.. over sized for more power if you crank up the boost ...
i wouldent worry about a stroker kit invest that money into a good turbo.. ramhorn mani etc
a good ecu and lots of DYNO tuning ...
don't forget to upgrade the clutch/flywheel when your in there .
