D16y7 99 CivicLX to EX Exhaust conversion questions
Hi,
I have seen a lot of converson topics on converting my D16y7 LX to EX exhaust and just wanted to be sure I had the basics down.
First of all, the car is Automatic, so I am only doing this because the catalytic converter is bad and the header has a crack right in the middle of the center 2 exhaust outlets.
I have a list of parts, from eBay, I know, I know, its cheap for a reason but if it gets the CEL off and gets me me more miles out of my civic then I'm all for cheap. lol
Here are the list of parts:
EX header: https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-CIVIC-D15-D16-SOHC-BLACK-COATED-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-4-2-1-HEADER-02-BUNG-GASKET/400770073380?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2055119.m1438.l2649
EX Catalytic Converter OBD II: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-2000-Honda-Civic-Si-EX-Catalytic-Converter-Direct-Fit-Heavy-Duty-OBD-II/282016313790?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2055119.m1438.l2649
O2 sensor extension cable: https://www.ebay.com/itm/32-O2-02-OXYGEN-SENSOR-EXTENSION-HARNESS-4-WIRE-FOR-CIVIC-INTEGRA-PRELUDE/182439231755?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid =p2055119.m1438.l2649
I also needed new o2 sensors and couldn't pass up this deal, so I have already bought these:
My questions are, once removing all the old LX parts, will these list of parts bolt right up? I haven't really noticed the exhaust, despite the many times I have been under the car for oil changes and such. I just wanted to know that once I start removing the LX exhaust parts, are these parts that I have listed going to just bolt right in. If not, any parts suggested would be appreciated.
Lastly, for the O2 sensor extension cable, it lists it will fit a 99 civic, but says 5 speed only. Why would that matter? only wondering as I am fully capable of clipping the O2 sensor wires and extending them myself with excess wiring that I have lying around.
Thanks as always everyone.

You also need the mid pipe after the cat converter. The pipe that have the resonator built in. Ran from cat converter to the rear wheel..
example.

u need the 2nd one. $83.33.. vtec sohc.. not the others..
then everything should bolt up nicely. Depending on how rusted out your bolts are. You want to get to new hardware..

Sub'd to this thread. I also have a Y7 and when I eventually do my exhaust mods, I'll be converting to the EX-style exhaust. I also plan to go aftermarket on everything, probably Ebay. I'm looking into a Yonaka catback for mine, along with the parts you listed. Thanks for doing the hard work for me hahah
