d16a6,d15b7 parts interchange and turbo questions.
I have a d15b7 and was wondering if the d16a6 bottom will work with the b7 head? will all sensors work? My a6 has bad valve seats which is why I ask this. I heard the only diff is the a6 has a more agressive cam is this true? Also Ive been looking at the Greddy Turbo kits. I like how you can get it pretty cheap with out the IC. Will a non intercooled turbo overheat in normal driving if the water pump and cooling system is new on the engine? Im pretty dumb with turbos and looked at a few others like the rev hard and drag but dont know if Id be able to pass teh sniffer test with a turbo. I heard the Greddy has a internal waste gate. IS this bad or good?Pros and cons? What psi is the greddy kit set at? Can you adjust it without buying any thing besides a IC kit?

Yes, Yes (as long as you aren't changing the ECU), Yes, the A6 has a more aggressive cam, Build your own turbo kit it's cheaper and you'll get an Intercooler.
If you swap heads, you won't pass smog in California.
No, internal wastegates are not bad.
PSI is 5.5 yes, you can adjust it without an IC.
No, you do not want to do that.
Yes, you should go visit the Forced Induction forum and start reading there.

woah,
yeah you've got ALOT to learn about turbo kits.
yeah the greddy kit is priced pretty well without the ic, but you really really should run some sort of ic.
also you can save even MORE money and get a stronger setup by building a custom kit.
You would however have to learn alot more about turbos.
yes the a6 cam is more aggressive than the b7, people use the a6 cam in b7's as a cheap upgrade.
yes you can use the b7 head on the a6,
however what car is this in? isnt the a6 an obd0 engine? the b7 is obdI, so i'm not sure what kind of sensors and stuff you'll need to swap over or not swap over.
internal wastegates arent as good as external but external = $$$ and internals do the job.

Id plan on using it in my 94 dx (auto) will do manual swap. yeh the a6 is a 88-91 Si engine and is obd 0. Yeh Ive asked a few questions and did some searched in the forced induction. Thanks for the info so far

Yes the B7 head will work on the A6 block.
Question for those who might know:
How do the dishes on the B7 and A6 pistons compare? I've got all of the 1.6L engines' pistons' specs, but nothing on the 1.5L stuff. I wonder if the A6 bottom end would raise Cr at all with the B7 head?

Re: (Spade)
there was definetely a post on the b7 piston subject,
i believe they are a flat top,
but there was some debate as to how far they actually stick up, so while they
may be a flat top(or relatively flat) they might sit lower.
but no one verified that,
so fawk, who knows.
the intricacies of pistons really are complicated..

what do you know?
Flat top meaning what though? 86-87 Integra "flat top" pistons actually have a +1.3cc dome.
