P2p ecu i beleive? i think the p2e is y7.

Also, the IACv is an issue, cause the d16y7 uses a 3-wire, whereas the y8 uses a 2-wire.
Yes there is a way to convert it, but when i did my swap i made life a hell of allot easier by swapping a y8 harness as well, for VTEC and the 2-wire IACv.

the P28 is for OBD1 single cam vtec, you can use the P28 if you convert to OBD1 with a jumper harness.

Otherwise you will need a P2P

The p2p ECU reads for a different EVAP system that the EX models have, and not the Dx/CX/LX ( d16y7) so you will get a Check engine light for that

I went thru the same issue, you need to buy ( at the honda dealer) the 96-98 evap canister, and its 3-way valve.

Remember, the y8 harness uses one more plug for the EVAP system, so in order to not run into trouble with the IACv, VTEC plug and the EVAP, i would suggest just buying the harness if you can.

For your EVAP, if you are keeping it OBD2:
this is the d16y8's evap system, which is slightly different than that of the d16y7's.
Its required for inspection in some or most states, and if the computer does not detect it correctly, it will throw you a check engine light (Code 92 EVAP Solenoid/Valve/Vacuum Lines). I had this issue before.

You will need the following parts from honda :

# 14
#21
#11 <--- This canister contains a valve of some type on it that the d16y7 models did not come with, there is another plug on it that the y8 harness is equipped for.

did this to make that Check engine light go away.

Don't forget to get a y8 head gasket and remove the middle layer to bump up your compression
