OBD2 to OBD1 harness question

OBD2 to OBD1 harness question
Can one of these harnesses be used to swap a OBD2 d-series motor to an OBD1 d-series car? Any known incompatibilities?
Seems like it should work, but wanted to check before shelling out cash for one.
Thanks.

When you say y8, are you referring to the EX motor?
R/g the virgin ecu
I am going to run the ecu stock.

the d16y8 is the 96 and up SOHC Vtec motor. if u are going to swap that into a OBD I car you will need to run the P28 ecu cause thats the ecu for the D16z6 the OBDI sohc vtec

In other words:
The easiest way to use a '96-up(obd2) motor in your car is to run it off an obd1 ecu.
Using an obd2 ecu in your obd1 car is not as easy as just purchasing a jumper harness.
That just lets the obd2 ecu physically plug in.
You would still have to do all the wiring to actually convert the car over to obd2.

if you use the p28 with the y8 in the obd1 car you will be fine, everything should plug up but you will have a knock sensor and a csf that wont be plugged in, and you will have to rewire the intake air temp (actually extend it) to plug into the intake
