Re: D15b8 Head question??? (z6hatchboy)
Wait, I'm lost. Are you trying to replace or install the b8 head?
If you're trying to replace it, you might be out of luck, since it's an 8 valve engine. If you're trying to install it... why?
Also, the d15b8 came in the CX. The d15z1 came in the VX.

Technically, you could swap on the z1 head, but it's not worth it. Honestly, any mini-me isn't worth it in the first place.
Also, I assume you don't have an 8 valve engine right now?

yea that's what i heard too but right now i'm thinking about building a with what i got. and what i got is a dx motor and a vx head laying around. thinking about doing a sohc v-tec turbo build. its inspiring when you see a sohc hit 12's and lower.... on a low budget build! so in conclusion.... the z1 head would work just as the z6 and y8 heads... would i get less power gains compared to a z6 or y8 head?

Trust me, it's not worth it. Turbo the engine combo you have. The VX head is designed for fuel economy, not power. If you're going to turbo, it will limit your potential.
Also, keep in mind that the DX rods won't be reliable above 200whp.

as long as it has the 4 valve reliefs in the head, you should be ok, with the b8 it only came with 2 valves per cylinder, i have a b8 with y8 head, no problems using a z6 timing belt.
