Default D15B2 block with D15Z1 head having trouble with timing and smoking

I have a 93 Honda del Sol with a d15b2 block and a d15z1 head it has a d15b2 cam gear and I don't know what everything else is from. Using the timing cover from a b2 the gear is pointing almost at the half moon part. If I retard anymore it spudders at idle and if advanced it spudders while accelerating. With the way it is now it occasionally spudders while accelerating 2000 to 3000 RPM.

I had to replace the head gasket and before that I wasn't having trouble with the timing but now instead of white smoke it looks like I have black or blue smoke coming out of the exhaust when accelerating. When I had the head off I put oil in each cylinder to see if it would leak or not so I'm assuming that's where the smoke is coming from but it's been about a hundred miles now and it's still doing it. Thanks for any help you can give me. Yes I tried to search the net before I posted.

Default Re: D15B2 block with D15Z1 head having trouble with timing and smoking

Today while driving the check engine light came on and it is a code 43. More than likely it's cause of the timing. I noticed most the time it's the o2 sensor I have a spare so I'll try that.
