Did head swap...now timing is off...
Did a swap over the weekend...I had never done a head swap before but a friend that was helping me had helped another guy do his...this is the weird part...when we put the head back on, he said we were supposed to have cylinder 2 & 3 TDC and have the notches on the cam gear straight up and down...everwhere else i heard, cylinder 1 & 4 are supposed to be TDC and the cam gear notches parallel to the top of the block (with the UP spoke up)...now the timing is way off... has anyone done this before?...should i redo the timing belt with 1 & 4 TDC and have the notches even with the block?

It's easyier to tell if it's set right that way. You dont really need to redo it, just spin it over and check to make sure it's right.
