D15 timing
Hey guys. I'm in the process of replacing the head gasket on my D15 gas mileage queen. How can I be sure the timing is lined up before removing the timing belt and then the head?? Someone told me to remove the drivers side tire and there should be a removable panel in the wheel well that I can stick wrench through and turn the motor. Anyone care to share the steps or point me to where I can find a free service manual??
Thank you much,
Sean

Re: D15 timing
Remove the valve cover and then upper timing belt cover. Use a 1/2" ratchet and 17-mm socket to turn the crankshaft counterclockwise until the arrow on the cam gear points straight UP and the side marks align with the top of the head (as viewed from the distributor side of the engine). In this configuration, the pointer on the block should align precisely with the WHITE TDC mark on the crankshaft pulley.
