Default Cutting aftermarket springs?

I have Progress springs on my 5g sedan and it only was lowered about 2 and a quarter inches. I want to go about another inch lower. Can I cut the aftermarket springs and what do I use to cut them? Also how would I know how much to cut off on the spring to get an inch? Thank you!

Don't cut em man, unless ur a ricer. Just go with some coilovers and adjust em to where ur happy. Good luck.

That's cool...ur car bro. Just that those springs were designed at a certain spring rate/height...and cutting em throws everything off. I knew someone who cut his sportline springs...wow...they bounced like crazy and his suspension bottomed out a lot.

You may end spending more money replacing/fixing ur suspension after u cut the springs....and since u don't have money right now...that might be a problem. Like I said...ur car...just trying to give ya advice...good luck.

Well said. Cutting corners now will end up costing you more in the long run.

Trade them with someone. Or else wait til you get the $$$ to get some coilovers. Cutting springs is still the #1 ricer mod, it doesn't matter if they're aftermarket springs or not. You'll *** up your suspension and have to pay more to get it fixed in the long run.

But it's your car, do what you want. I say just get a hacksaw and saw off a coil or two.

by cutting them you are ef-ing up the rest of your sus. like the bushings and what not. just wait until you have enough money to buy coil overs. your axles will go out a lot faster and it is very dangerous riding around on cut springs because it wont seat right after you cut em.

do you like bouncing around all over the place? thats what the ride will be like. kind of dangerous at high speeds.
