Its not suggested and will probably make handling worse. If your purpose for doing it is just for looks, then ya, they can be cut. But if you want it low to lower your center of gravity and improve handling, you should get new springs to meet your needs.

Re: i need an answer (HXvtec)
do a search there is a huge thread on this, it will lower you car more and if you cut only one or two coils wont really do much. i rode on cut aftermarket springs for a while and it was fine didn't ride bad at all didn't handle any worse then stock either. i have seen countless people buy dropzone matrix apc springs coilovers and after they take them out to upgrade the spring is smushed and all fucked up i remeber blackdeucecoupe had a pic of it up here. it wont hurt by cuting of one or two coils. but its not neccasarily the best idea either the springs weren't ment to be that way, but then again i can know that there was know design but into dropzone matrix or apc. so its up to u

if you noticed your springs you will see that they are not the same windings all the way thru infact they have different spring rates within them.. so if you cut the top or bottom which is the more compressed of the 2 then you will get a bouncy ride where you hit a bump and you get like 10 after shocks from hitting that bump..and when you take turns you will also tend to go into the turn and therefor runin your saloon times.
If you wanted something to adjust get some coil-overs then you can customize the height of the car w/o loosing alot of performance
