slightly confused about what you are asking. You need to tap the axles in all the way. You can use a piece of wood and a hammer to tap them in. You should feel a little click when they go in all the way. If they are in all the way, and still leaking, then you may need new axle seals.

If its leaking you probably pushed the axle seal in. If you cant go into gear then you probably messed up the clutch install.

You need to take the axle off.

you dont need to take everything apart to tap the axle in, but if the seal is messed up or pushed in, then you will have to take it all apart again

If you have to force it in really hard then you either need to bleed the clutch or do it again. It should go smoothly in.

i'm talking a d-series here but when i swapped my tranny i didn't have my passenger's side axle in all the way, like a 1/8-1/4 inch from all the way and i got about 100 feet before being in gear was the same as neutral, did not move. try tapping them in and go from there
