Crooked Steering column???

Crooked Steering column???
I noticed that my Steering column is crooked? I thought it was just the plastics so it'd be a easy fix. But when my friend and i installed my new steering wheel this past weekend we found out that the whole thing is crooked? The turn signal switch is lower than the Wiper switch so i guess it makes it turned to the left? Does anyone know what caused this? And also how i can fix it? Help please!

either the nuts and bolts holding the column up are loose on one side, or someone put a bar through the wheel and tried to break the lock and bent the column instead.

hmmm I can find out if anyone has ever tried to steal the car. But i'm pretty sure no one has. Im going to have to research the nuts and bols holding the column up...

if you pull those covers off you may be able to get down there and loosen it enough to try to adjust it back.

When we had the covers off when we were installing the steering wheel. I tried to move it and it felt totally solid. I thought it was welded and not able to move. I'll get under there this weekend and check it out. Hope its not asking too much to ask you guys if you have any diagrams or pictures of which nuts these are?

Take the knee bolster off (big plastic piece that covers the steering column and fuse panel) you will see two brackets holding up the steering column, one bracket uses studs with nuts, the other uses bolts. 2 nuts, 2 bolts, 4 things to check total.

when my last civic was broken into, they yanked the steering wheel to snap the pin so they could move my car. as a result, the column was tweaked. that's the only reason your steering column would look like that. if you want it fixed, buy a new steering column.

I've got to agree with the guys who said they had the same thing happen when their cars were stolen.
Looking at the column in the car you could see it was crooked, but when you looked at the brackets and such there wasn't anything obviously damaged.

i kind fix mine but u have to try to stick a bar across and try to bend it back idk it work for me for now
