crappy heat in eg?

Icon6 crappy heat in eg?

so i got a swaped 2.0 gsr in my eg and my heat SUCKS and its cold as sh*t here. Its a new thermostat and i burped the system out of air, the car does not over heat, fan turns on good, but heat is very weak!!! could my heater core be bad? or what is it???

The heater valve may not be opening all the way. When you slide your selector from cold air to hot air, it turns a valve in the engine bay to send hot coolant into the heater core.

Pop your hood and look kinda behind the engine on the pass. side. You will see the valve. Easier way to track it is to look at the rubber hose under your Distributor. Follow it to the valve on the firewall. This is the valve that the cable operates. If it doesn't open all the way you won't get as much coolant flow to the heater core. My cable actually broke and instead of replacing it(lazy)I just reach under the dash when in the driver seat and you can flip the lever there that will open the valve as well.

yea i did that and it is opening and closing good its just weird ill have heat then it will go away then ill have it again!!?? the car doesnt over heat or nothing so its all working good. Its just COLD up here lol n its my daily

Oh ok, thought it might be something easy like that. Always nice when it it. The engine is getting up to operating temp correct? The temp gauge reads that its at operating temp?

yup and the fan turns on and the heat stays at a good normal level, im not buring no anti-freeze, and its up to level.
