crank pully bolt came out!
hi guys,
after finally taking my b16a2 swap for its test drive i get back home to find a squaling noise from the crank pully side of the engine. When i looked at the pully i saw it wobbling a little. immediatly turned off the engine and found that the bolt was totally out and lying on the floor!
rang up my bro who is a trainee mechanic and said that he forgot to tighten the crank pully bolt up in the engine (he changed the cam belt before the engine was put in the car)
i tightened the bolt up to 210nm and re attached the p/s and alternator belts
and the damn squeaking was still there. so i removed both belts started it up again and the squeaking had stopped.
put both belts back on with varying tightness different times and the squeaking is still there. the alternator belt will not go any tighter than ive got it now and there is still about 0.40" play there.
any ideas on what ive [freak]ed up here? im going to get a new alternator and ps belt for sure. but im really worried it could be more serious?
please help guys, after ages of wanting a B series i finally get one and this happens

Re: (id3379)
Well, if the engine makes noise with the belts on, remove them one at a time, not all at once, to determine the component making the noise. (IE power steering, alternator)
Might have a bad alternator shaft bearing, or the brushes could be worn out.
