Default tech qustion

i got a 90 Da ls V just swaped the V in and did the timeing

it started fine.

IT DIED a minute later

came to realize the alternator was not being pulled

the crankshaft pully is loose and will not tightin or lostin

i leave it in gear and it still tyes to move the car when i tightin it with a torgue wrench

some people tell me they key it out.. but that makes no since, since i never tounched it in the first place.

any help would be much apreciative!!! thanks!!

If the crank pully is not spining when the engine is turning over, then the key is out. But it sounds like you need to adjust the alternator belt, not the crank pulley.

so the bolt that was in the crankshaft pully was totally mangled.

i hit the bolt with a hammer
than airgunned it off..

it was so stpipped it did not want to tighten or loostin.

i got a new bolt airgunned it on and it runs fine.

just thought i would let peoples no..
