Cost to replace both front shocks?
Hi All,
I live in Dearborn.
One of my front shocks finally died.
I need to have it replaced.
I drive a 94 civic HB.
I called Belle Tire and they want 376 for both of 230 for just one.
I called the local Honda dealership and they want 1.5 times as much!
Does anybody know where I can get my shocks replaced at a fair price?
How should should I really be expcecting to pay?
Thanks.

Well, you can always replace them with aftermarket shocks, i.e Kyb GR2
As far as pricing for labor is concerned most shops where I live charge $50 per shock.
I'm not familiar with canada, but I would take it to a big auto repair chain and see what they say... usually they have fixed prices for things like this.

I live in Dearborn now.
Belle Tire ( A large american chain ) quoted me 200 for part and labour of the ONE front strut!
Isn't that a rip off?
Any one got better ideas?

Id get aftermarket, that sounds REALLY high, 200 for one wheel? you could get a coilover suspension set up for less than that... and have a better ride and a nicer look, with the drop and all...

Re: (SOHCD16y8)
You know what? That's what I'd do, but it's cold outside and I don't have the tools to do the job. I'm kinda stuck, in that I have to get someone else to do what is an essentially easy job.

Re: (numbnuts22715)
Yeah, I know. Outrageous!!
I called the local honda dealer, and they wanted 275!!
I think it's because I live in Dearborn, where Japanese cars aren't really popular.
Anyone know of any places that sell honda parts here cheap?
