Default Converting back to obd2 for emissions

Possibly moving to arizona where the obd testing for emissions. My car is obd1 and will obviously fail inspection. Any insight on how to convert back, the process, and if anyone has had to do this before. Thanks!

98 Civic? What engine? I run a OBD1 B18C1 engine in my 99 Civic. What I do to pass is I swap the OBD1 ECU with a USDM OBD2A P72 ECU with a jumper harness. I still have my secondary O2 and EVAP purge solenoid hooked up so I don't throw codes. I drive around for a little while for the ECU to go into ready mode. Then I go in for the emissions test. They plug it into the computer, it reads the ECU just fine and I pass.

If you are outside of the Phoenix or Tucson metropolitan area, then you are safe.

Here is the link for the coverage map:

http://gisweb.azdeq.gov/arcgis/veiareas/

If you are exempt from emissions testing, you need to do this:

I'd just run a 99-00 Si ECU just to pass emissions. Swap back to your OBD1 ECU after the test.
