compression numbers for y7/y8
Just did a compression test on my y7/y8 and the numbers surprised me a little. 195-205 across all 4. Is this normal to be so high? I thought that it'd be down to 180 at the most. Wondering if I did it wrong? Is the motor supposed to be warm or cold when you do the test? Does the weather affect it at all? It's pretty cold right now (about 40*F) if that matters.

Re: compression numbers for y7/y8 (vsm98civic)
I did a comp test on my y7/y8 mini me and got 180-190 on all 4. I heard its best to do it while the engine is fully warmed up and you've driven it for a while.
btw, what kind of setup do you have on your boosted mini me? I am looking to boost my setup as well and would like some tips. Thanks

Re: compression numbers for y7/y8 (EK k kay)
Thanks for the input.. I guess i shouldn't be concerned with how high the numbers are, since they are pretty consistent anyways. i was just hearing a little knocking sound and thought it might be a bent valve or something, so this is the first thing i checked.
As far as my setup, I was on a budget, but didn't want to sacrifice reliability.
14b (internal wg 9psi) on hf manifold w/ weir adapter plate
obd2->1 harness
uberdata
dsm 450's
1g dsm bov
sandwich adapter
fd rx7 smic
stealhmode oil lines
autometer oil pressure & boost gauges
From start to finish, i think i spent around $800 for everything, including brand new bolts for everything, clamps, coolant fittings/lines, etc. All the little things add up quick. If you need some tips, just let me know what kind of things you're wondering about, and i'll try to help the best i can.
