Compression check question.

Compression check question.
I have a 92 civic si and I am about to do a compression check on it. The question I have is do I have to disable the ignition system or is this not necessary. In my haynes manual it says I should but on this C-speed writeup it doesn't say anything about it. What I am thinking the ignition system does is send sparks through the spark plug wires and if I don't disable it I should just avoid touching the end of the wires to it. Please correct me if I am wrong and please tell me wetehr or not I have to disable the ignition system.

Re: (pbcdb)
Crank the car, either pull the fuel pump fuse or unclip the harness going to the fuel pump. Let the car run until it cuts off (about 5 seconds). Then do your compression tests. Hook the fuel pump back up and start your car.
