compensator arms
Hello I have a 99 civic si and during an inspection I noticed some bolt heads were broken were the compensator arms are located specifically on the bracket that's welded on to the chassis, can anyone suggest how to remove these? thanks

Re: compensator arms
OP, you can probably get them out easiest if you're willing to sacrifice the compensator arms. Cut the arm around the bushing so all you have left is the bushing. Chances are this is seized to the bolt. turn the bushing (and bolt along with it) with a small pipe wrench or large vice grips. at some point it will start spreading the metal on the other side of the bushing, at this point cut the bolt next to bushing at remove the bushing, turn the rest of the bolt out with a pair of vice grips or a bolt extractor.

Re: compensator arms
Thanks for the input, the compensator arms will be replaced as they are rusted, I will try to post some pics to give you an idea of what I face, the suggestions that I got from two sources weren't an option, it was first suggested that a hole be cut into the area in order to facilitate removal of bolt ( will post pics as soon as I can) then it was suggested that the brackets would have to be cut off and and new brackets welded back on. Again I will get the pics asap so that you may have a better idea. Thanks
