Code P1457, Idle all over the place
Car is a 2000 Si. THe car sat for about a year, and I just rebuilt the bottom end. It's running excellent, with the exception of this code. I reset it, and somehow managed to pass my emmissions inspection.
Basically, I can't get the idle to stay at the same place. I turned the screw, and had it around 750, but now it bounces all over. Sometimes its high, sometimes it feels like its going to stall out. Theres been a few times when I stop at a redlight or park and let it idle, the check engine light comes on, and the idle immediately jumps to 1500 rpms, and holds steady there. THen when I drive it like that, the car seems unable to hold a constant speed. And when I step on or off the gas, the car bucks a little. And the RPMS drop alot faster than normal.
I know this is a lot of random BS, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what it was. I know that code P1457 is the EVAP system, and I was thinking I have a vaccum leak somewhere. I was hoping that with the specifics I gave, someone else has had this problem. Thanks in advance
