Default code 9, irratic idle?

did a search on code 9, cydlinger sensor, will most likely need to replace my dizzy. But i am wondering coudl the code 9 cause the irratic idle?

new engine, just dropped in, but itstarts, idles at 3500, then likes to bog/jump from 2500 to 4000.

I think the idle might be a vacuum leak somewhere, but not completly sure.

if you have a vaccum leak somewhere place ahnd over throttle body to try shut of motor if it dont you have a big leak somwhere mainly on intake manifold

ok pulled my dizzy apart and found a screw stripped out and was grinding against the rotor and the base, removed it and put it all back together. The code is gone now. But the idle issue still remains.

what happens is the car revs up to 4000 drops to 1500 then stutters up to 2000 then revs up to 4000 again and continues.

there is no FTIV, im controlling the cold idle through hondata.

first check for vacuum leaks. the is the most common cause ffor idle surging. before you do anything else you have to confirm there is no leaks anywhere after the TB where the MAP sersor can read. a tiny little leak will cause the surge.

if you are certain there is no leak, you will have to check your IACV (back of intake manifold), you can do this by grounding out the IACV, make sure you ground the right wire cause if u ground the reference wire then your gonna be looking for a new ecu

well shes dead

cam key sheared out of the cam and the cam stopped spinning, so im m assuming some piston to valve contact.

I jsut spend a year rebuilding this engine as i dropped a valve (spring broke) last march and we where just doing the cam break in and this happened.

ive given up, this is getting too costly, i suppose ill just have to purchase a stock head and use that, maybe ill try the performance thing again sometime in the future.
