Default Code 22 searched vtec pressure switch

So I have finally got my cel after my swap which was about 9 months ago.

92 cx hatch
B16
P28 chipped running crome pro
95 ex engine wiring harness so plug and play
plx-m300 wb
Not telling the rest of mods.

Keep getting cel for code 22 which is vtec pressure switch. I just dropped some movies off and the highest revs I got to were about 3500. No where near vtec engagement.
So how would I get a cel for this? I have searched here in recent and archives.
Results:
Have enough oil so not the problem.
Pan is a little dented but highly doubtful that this is problem but will be pulling off soon to install morosso pan.
Pretty sure the switch is good but will run voltage within a few days.

Out of all the archives I have read nothing sheds any light on a final solution to this very common problem other than splicing A4 to D6 I think it was.

This problem used to happen once every 3-4 weeks now it happens about once every drive.
I have made dyno runs and passes down the quarter mile all last year and now with a new season coming up this **** happens. While vtec is engaged it gets choppy just under 8000 rpm which has never happened before either.

What are some suggestions or any helpful advice.
Sorry for the long post but trying to be informative up front.

I did a B16B swap into my buddy's car and got the same code... using Crome, you can eliminate the code for VTEC pressure switch but you'll lose the launch conrol capability.

somebody confirm this?

Default Somebody help

So with all the experienced people out here, no one knows???

I really don't want to start another useless thread about code 22 that gets shoved into archives with no true valueable help.

So if anyone out there can shed some good light on this issue.
Would having an obd vtec solenoid body have anything to do with it being on an obd1 setup? just a thought I had.

TIA.

So yeah bump for being really pissed off at code 22 right now.

The damn thing is coming on when I decelarate in high gears and low rpms.

This has started hardcore since I got cromepro datalogging working. Could it be the Rom??? Could it have to do with fuel settings on far left column at high vacuum?

Does it think it needs more oil pressure in higher gears while winding down?

Holy vtec not working batman this **** is pissing me off.

-try reburning the chip and yes it could be the rom if it started happening right after you got the datalog working... my friend had to reburn the chip.
-try a new vtec pressure switch

what have you tried so far?

Well as far as the ROM I am using a ROM that xenocron had on pgmfi.org that was a known working rom for datalogging.
I also run on the ostrich so I don't have a chip in there. Not until I get a comfortable tune.

I have a new vtec pressure/solenoid coming shortly but I will take mine off tomorrow to inspect the filter. I just changed the oil awhile back so I will wait another month til I can pull the pan.

I am in process of getting an oil pressure guage since I will be boosting soon anyway.
This isn't my daily driver so I have some play room with it but it is still upsetting.

Will update if I find any results.

i got a jdm B16a 2nd gen in my crx with a p28 chipped ecu.. im ******* having the same vtec problem bro.. but it happends on 3rd gear up.. on 1st and 2nd vtec works perfectly all the way to 8000 rpm!!.. on 3rd, if i let go of the gas pedal on high rpms the engine light code 22 comes on!!! vtec stops working.. and on 4th and 5ft gear the code comes right around 6000 rpm.... i got to turn off the engine and start it back up.. and it goes back to normal.. i've noticed when i change chips in the ecu.. the simptoms change..like. it would come on on different rpm and ****..but sooner or later i get the ******* light...im not sure if its oil pressure or the ecu.. but i was still getting this code even before i chipped the ecu. I NEED HELP!!
