clutch slipping
So last week my clutch was slipping quite bad so i took it in to a garage to get replaced. No i'm selling the car in a few months so i didn't get the OEM honda clutch disc/pressure plate/release bearing package, instead i got a cheaper one that i figured would still do the trick.
After the mechanice put in the new aftermarket clutch assembly for me, i could feel that there was less slipping, but there was slipping nonetheless. BTW, the slipping occurs at low rpm's when i'm tranisitioning between gears, so i've been having to rev a little higher so i transition into the next gear at higher rpm's (yes i know there's a break in period so i don't rev it too high).
Today i bled the clutch lines and topped off the clutch master cylinder. The difference is HUGE, BUT....it still slips a little bit. I can basically drive like i used to 90% of the time because the slipping stops at a much lower rpm now (ie: clutch fully engages at a lower rpm).
So i don't know what the problem is, with the OEM clutch i could be in second gear as long as the car as moving at least 10km/hr or so with the pedal fully depressed and there would be no clutch slippage - yes it would take a long time to get moving but the clutch held. Now, if i try to do that i get slippage in second gear until i reach around 25+km/hr or so (similar for 3rd, 4th at higher speeds). Now i'm a noob and i'll admit it so i'm just hoping this is the result of an non-OEM clutch....but i'm not sure.
Please any input would be great cuz i can't afford anymore downtime with the car >_<
Thanx in advance

Re: clutch slipping (ichiban_719)
oh ya, my friend suggested it may be that i just need to break it in and then it should be better...has anyone experienced this with a new clutch?
