clutch, clutch MC, slave cyl. changed...not what I expected??
hey guys,
I just changed all that last week, and now the clutch is pretty much brokin' in. But it really isn't what I expected. Yea, i just got an OE-standard clutch from Exedy, and everything is pretty much stock, but I thought my tranny would be a bit more improved.
Do you think its my tranny that is worn down/damaged/aged? Yea, i know its a VX tranny and I should at least swap it out with a z6 tranny, but i don't have money right now.
someone told me to swap tranny's i'd have to get new hubs and driveshafts...
but anyways, i need some input! Thanx. werd.

Can you tell us what the car feels like to drive? What were you expecting that isn't happening here? I can't tell from your post. What do you think is lacking in your tranny?

hey. well, I've driven my friend's 97 civic cx hatch, and it doesn't have too many miles on it..and i guess to describe it best, the clutch on his grabs imediately. Sensitive is maybe the word.
For my car, I dont know if its cuz I have to break it in more, but its not as "responsive". I kinda wanna say slippage, but my friend who drove it around doesn't think so...I also have to put more gas into it when goin' off starting gear..unlike my friends 97...I hope this description is a bit better.

if u mean your gears dont catch as soon as you let go of the clutch, i think its because u got the oem clutch. u shoulda got like a higher clutch with a different pressure plate, those babies grab like a ****!

Re: (stripes777)
no, no..I'm not saying I was expecting something spectacular..I knew what my standards would be when I bought the clutch..but my friend's 97 still has its oem clutch...so basically, I was just comparing the two..
and this is just during regular driving (shifting at 3 grand..) but more directly at going into first gear or second gear....I dont know...
