I have a weird tranny/clutch problem that I've never had before. It all happened after I accidently mis-shifted into fourth. Well anyways...when i release the clutch AFTER putting it in gear while the car is moving something grinds when it engages. Usually if the tranny is grinding it would grind going into gear and not when releasing the clutch. It feels normal in neutral when I press the clutch and release it. Could it be the clutch or the tranny? NEED HELP!! TIA!!
It sounds most likely to be in the tranny. I don't know what it is but you probably need to take it to a tranny specialist. The good things is that if you have a D series motor, you can pick up a good used tranny for almost nothing. And while you're at it you can go ahead an move to a stronger clutch.
