Default Clean Oil Around the bottom of my Trany ?

Hey guys I have noticed something that is starting to worrie me, I had my car up on the lift changing the oil yesterday (I got a nice mechanic friend that lets me use his lift to change my oil how nice is that!?)

Anyway I noticed that around the bottom of my trany there is always "fresh" oil, just a small bead of it, always "new" looking, not black like when it comes out of the pan. Is this something I should be worried about or is it natural "Seepage"(SP) I am not too worried about it because I have noticed it before and it never dawned on me that this might be a problem .. but now that I have noticed it and the frequency of it .. i am a little concerned help ?

u said its fresh oil and u just changed your oil, check all the plugs and stuff, most likely youre leaking oil somewhere, check ot see if the oil filter is on tight, good luck, but u must fix the prob!

its probably ur tranny fluid leaking... a lot of people use regular engine oil in their trannys. check ur to see where the leak is originating from.... might want to check the seals where ur axles go.

Its not from the oil im putting in because It's there before I put the fresh oil in, I cant track it down to any single point, It runs the entire bottom side of the trany, could I have a bad gasket around the trany or something ?

Yeah it does sound like axle seals.

If it's not an axle seal then I'd bet it's the shifter shaft seal. this is the seal where the shifter inserts into the tranny itself.

That "fresh" oil is tranny fluid, and manual trannies rarely dirty up oil.

People use 10W30 all the time in Honda trannies, but I prefer Genuine Honda MTF.

Where would I look to check the axel seals ? just follow the axel into the trany or what ? (I will try to get some pictures in a few... Unemployed right now i have lots of free time )
