Re: civic question
the vin should tell you. but normally sedan/coupes with sunroofs mean they are EX models, regardless of it bieng EG/EK. if the sunroof is aftermarket then the only way to tell is throught the vin. if it were a hatch then Si for the eg.
as for rear disks, i've only seen them on Si and EX sedans for the EG's and Si EK's

For example, my titles read:
YEAR: 1988
MAKE: HONDA
MODEL: PS
STYLE: CP
SERIES/BODY: PRE2D
and...
YEAR: 1998
MAKE: HONDA
MODEL: UA
STYLE: CP
SERIES/BODY: CIVCP
You'll notice neither of my titles even touch on the trim level.
Now, I don't drive a "Honda PS" or a "Honda UA". I don't even know what models those could possibly be if that was indeed what they were saying. My bet is that "model" is a code of some sort and doesn't actually have anything or much to do with what we usually call a model (such as "Prelude" or "Civic", in this case).
Tell us the first six digits and we can tell you what trim your car is.
In fact, I'll just make it easier for you.
Since you said it's a 1992 and it's a coupe, that narrows it. As mentioned before, coupes were 1993-1995 models, so it's probably not a 1992, but I'll take you at your word that you know coupe usually refers to a two door car with a trunk.
First three digits of your VIN will be:
JHM - Assembled in Japan
1HG - Assembled in the USA
2HG - Assembled in Canada
Fourth through Sixth digits will be (these are chassis codes!):
EG8 - Civic sedan, 1.5L (DX/LX)
EH2 - Civic hatch, 1.5L (CX/DX/VX)
EH3 - Civic hatch, 1.6L (Si)
EH9 - Civic sedan, 1.6L (EX)
EJ1 - Civic coupe, 1.6L (EX)
EJ2 - Civic coupe, 1.5L (DX)
It's that easy. :

Re: civic question - cex model?
Just went out and grabbed a registration. Same info.
Mdyr: 1998
Make: HONDA
Body: CIVCP
Model/BT: UA / CP
As a side note, I absolutely hate when people bring in their registration to try to have me ID their car when I'm working parts. It's often something you have to sort of decode.
Remember that my codes are for the state of Washington... and I have no idea how they make up those codes or what exactly stand for. Massachusetts likely is different.

Re: civic question - cex model?
NOFX, did you buy your cars new? I live in Illinois and bought mine used, and just put CX and LX for the model and that was what was on the registration when it came back. Maybe everyone here is just doing their registration wrong?

Re: civic question - cex model?
I write down the actual model, which would be "Civic" and "Prelude". I don't write the trims, "EX" and "2.0Si 4WS" because they don't ask for it.
Say you get a ticket. No one cares if you have a "Honda LX". They need to know what sort of Honda, not what sort of engine and brake package.
I'm surprised that was overlooked, but apparently in some areas you could probably put down almost anything. Especially with the alphanumeric names manufacturers are asking for now.
As you can see, on my registration it still lists my Civic as being "MODEL: UA" though. I've seen others ask about similar entries on their registrations outside of Washington state, so I would think this might be somewhat standard. Also, it mentions Civic elsewhere (CIVCP).
I know I at least write clearly enough that "Civic" wouldn't be mistaken for "UA".
