Civic HX transmission swap (auto)

Civic HX transmission swap (auto)
I just bought a '97 Civic HX with a bad auto tranny (I got a good deal). I can't find any used HX auto trannys locally so I was wondering if anyone knows about swapping it for an auto tranny from an EX or DX/LX, which my local auto recycler has several of for $500.
I can get an HX tranny shipped here for about $650-$700 with a 90 day warranty but I need to get this car fixed and sold ASAP and don't want to wait for delivery.

Okay, I don't have experience with HX engines or transmissions myself, but I'll repeat what I've heard before.
HX's auto transmissions, the CVT, have problems commonly.
Unfortunately, if you want to swap to another automatic transmission, it won't work out because of the ECU. In order to put another auto tranny on, you'd need another ECU, which won't match to the engine.
So, from what I've heard, the only options are a new HX CVT transmission, a manual transmission conversion or a full engine and transmission swap.

Yeah, this is sort of what I figured with the ECU.
I found a used HX auto tranny with a 90 day guarantee for $650 shipped.
I bought the car as a flipper so the warranty for me is moot, but I'll pass it on to the next owner.
Fortunately I got a screamin' deal on the car and I'll still make +/-$2000 on it.
