Civic Engine Dies Intermittently Upon Start Up
I have a 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback, and for the longest time now, the engine would sometimes die upon start up. After this happens, I turn the key to off position and back to ignition, and I would no longer hear the fuel pump prime, yet the check engine light still lights up for 4 seconds and turns off as usual. I start the engine up just for it to die again. Usually I wait a couple minutes and try again, then I would either hear the fuel pump prime, or I would hear the fuel pump kick in sometime during the 4 seconds to prime and the engine would start right up again. I noticed that this happens a lot during hot weather, or when I turn the engine on and off many times in a short period of time. It almost never happens on a cold start, or after the car has been sitting for a long period of time. What could be the problem? I would like to fix this as soon as possible.
