City light question...
Okay so what is the big difference between jdm headlights and usdm headlights on EG's? I've been told the jdm headlights don't have the **** and they have "City lights" but my question is what do they do exactly and if anyone has pics of jdm headlights at night that would be greatly appreciated...

Re: City light question... (hatchi)
When adjusting them the USDM headlight, the whole housing moves. With the JDM ones just the inside is adjusted, not moving the pastic cover. And there is abot a 3-5 lbs difference (JDM are lighter). Also the JDM uses a H4H bulb, USDM uses a H4 bulb, which can easily be used in the JDM headlight by bending some tabs.
"what exactly does a city light do?"
Its just a small light that is always on so your car can be seen easier.
The light output is much better in the JDM headlight also. sorry no pic of this.

Re: City light question... (Cboy1-EG6)
Citylights can be best described as day time running lights here in the states.
I've been told in "Many places in Europe headlights aren't necessary because of all the street lights. Therefor head lights become a blinding hindrance so they utilize citylights".
I don't believe this but it was one explanation I got from some JDM freak!

tokyo is a bright city, you dont need your headlights to be on so that's where the city lights come in.
