Difference between JDM and USDM Eg headlights
I heard that the JDM headlights are plastic. Does anyone know the difference between the piece that blocks the front of the bulbs?

I seems like it would be better to use the USDM oem headlights and modify the light shield for a custom hid setup. I preffer the glass covers.

Yes they are plastic; have no nipples; use H4H bulbs; and have city light holes.
Other than that, they are pretty much the same. The inner reflective housing's are pretty much identical.
The U.S. housings focus the light more on the right side of the road, and the JDM housings focus the light more on the left side of the road.

How would I go about opening my EG headlights and resealing them? Would putting them in an oven to soften-up the glue work? and what about resealing them?

Re: (EG2 SiR)
Im not sure about EG headlights ( I have an EK) but baking mine worked out great! Just make sure not to leave them in too long! I baked mine then used a screwdriver to pry them open!

personally i likk the jdm headlights better, it looks more snuged, clearner, and better than the usdm headlights, which have that nasty gap. also, when the lights are on they look much better.
hands down to the plastic, snuged, clean headlights.

Re: (SeaQuake)
If you like the look of the jdm headlights (no nipples) but don't want plastic... the singapore lights are glass lensed w/o nipples (I got them by accident)...
Other difference not mentioned are that the usdm lights are made up of a mounting bracket and bulb assembly while the jdm/sdm (sing. dom. mark.) are all one piece construction.. not a huge deal but imo it's cleaner and easier to work with...
Oh and baking them works fine but you need to allow them to get hot enough but not too hot... I cracked one of the lenses on mine when prying them apart because I didn't let the sealant heat up enough..
the best thing to seal them with is silicone adhesive (well that's what I used and have seen recomended...)...
If you need or want info on getting the sdm lights (glass lense jdm style) let me know I still have the sellers contact info...

Oh and if you're talking about the reflector.... they are slightly different... at least the usdm vs. sdm... If you want I can take pics... but not exactly asap... I'd have to take out my sdm lights... which I already had to do 3 times do to unexpected leaks etc...

Re: Difference between JDM and USDM Eg headlights (NonovUrbizniz)
hey NonovUrbizniz,
do the SDM eg headlights use the h4 or h4h bulb, there was a guy on ebay selling some jdm lights that were glass and had a city light and used the h4 bulb like the USDM civics, i thought he was full of **** till he sent some pics. i would love to get my hands on some of those to put a nice HID kit in and have city lights.
DO you have a pic?

Me, and I did it in such a way that the the "city lights" come on instead of the corner lights (the corner light come on when I signal). Just a matter of rerouting a wire.

Looks like its me and Milano_EH3.
City light club. That is how the eg6 came

Re: Difference between JDM and USDM Eg headlights (akumaracer)
hey... sorry I was typing my response right when the "blackout of 2003" hit... so I never got a chance to post...
the bulbs I got in it were h4's... my stock 9003's fit in it fine (that's what I used)... so if h4/9003's don't fit in the h4h's then yes the sdm one's will accomodate a standard h4 bulb...
as stated though they through too much light towards the oncoming traffic being that in singapore they'd be lighting up the treeline etc...
I have pics of the headlights but I don't think they'll help you any... none of them show the bulb receptical...
I also wired my citylights but I did it so they come one with the parking lights low beam (parking lights still function as both parking lights and blinkers.) the only thing I thought of changing was the fact that they stay on with the headlights which I see as pointless but I wouldn't begin to know how to wire that so it doesn't happen... and if I loose a headlight bulb it'll provide some light (not for driving but for oncoming traffic).
